Getting Around From Asana

North Park sits almost exactly in the geographic center of San Diego. You are 10 minutes from downtown, 12 from the airport, and 15 from the beach. Here are the specific routes our residents actually use.

Transit: the 7, the 10, and the 11

Three MTS bus lines run on University Ave and El Cajon Blvd, two blocks from the front door. The 7 connects downtown to La Mesa via Hillcrest and City Heights. The 10 runs to Old Town and up to UTC through the SDSU area. The 11 hits Adams Ave up to SDSU, back down through Normal Heights. All three run every 10-15 minutes during peak. The nearest trolley station is City College (Blue Line) about 3 miles away — a 10 minute drive or a 20 minute ride on the 7.

Bike and scooter

North Park has a 86 Bike Score. The Park Blvd bike lane drops you at Balboa Park in 5 minutes. Adams Ave has protected lanes heading east. Getting to the beach is a downhill glide to Mission Bay in about 20 minutes; coming back up is the workout. E-bikes and shared scooters are easy to find at the 30th / University hub.

Freeway and airport

I-805 on-ramp is 5 minutes east. I-5 is 6 minutes west via Washington St. To San Diego International Airport, figure 12-15 minutes via I-5 north to Pacific Highway; in traffic, closer to 20. Uber and Lyft base fare to SAN runs around $15-20 off-peak.

Downtown in 10

Whether you drive (10 min via Park Blvd south), take the bus (18 min on the 7), or bike (22 min down Park), downtown San Diego is the easiest commute in our portfolio.
